TSC Productions has currently created three interactive multimedia CD-ROM training programs to assist social work, social care and community justice staff tackle the processes of racism that can lead to social exclusion and discrimination for the Black communities. A recent publication is available for free download. The Virtual Placement - Preparing for Practice, is a program that explores the issues that arise in practice placement situations.

Volume 1 Race and Social Work has been created to help you explore how concepts of race and racism can impact on your ability to provide anti-racist social work services. Volume 2 Tackling Institutional Racism has been part funded by the Central Council for Education and Training in Social Work. This program has over one and half hours of interactive digital video based around ten case studies that explore how the process of institutional racism can impact on an organisations ability to provide services to one Black social care user. You are allowed to roam a virtual community and help the ‘virtual social care agency’ examine processes of good practice that can prevent and challenge instances of bad practice that can perpetuate the processes of institutional racism. The Community Justice Anti-racist Training CD-ROM has been produced by TSC Productions, The Midland Training, Assessment and Development Consortium and the University of Birmingham. This program explores the issues of racism that can impact on delivery of anti-racist community justice services. To find out more about this program please select the Community Justice above.

The Virtual Placement - Preparing for Practice has been produced in collaboration with the University of Central England. The authors Tarsem Singh Cooner and Professor Mark Doel hope that this program will assist students and practice teachers, personal development assessors etc. to prepare for the challenges that placements can bring. This program is available for free download.
